Join us for an exciting weekend at the Pittsburg Vintage Gran Prix with a trip down the Tail on the Dragon – North!

We leave Friday morning, 8:30 am sharp from Terry Hills Golf Course, drive the Tail of the Dragon – North!, stay overnight in Cranberry PA, where we will join Allegheny Region for a welcome party. We drive to Fallingwater Museum Saturday morning (about an hour and a half drive).  The Vintage Grand Prix on Sunday will be  the actual races. Drive back via insterstates on Monday.

This is an à la carte weekend. Feel free to join for some, or all, of these great events!

Friday- Tale of the Dragon – North!

Between Jersey Shore and Coudersport – it offers 60+ miles without even one stop sign and almost no driveways or intersections to speak-of. Much of this route is in total seclusion – surrounded by nothing but trees and wildlife. A very nice mix of incredible, ever changing scenery and varying road conditions – its never boring.  It’s approximately a 7 hour trip with a lunch break.  Check out the route.

To participate in the tour with the group, meet at Terry Hills at 8:00am, pull out by 8:30am

*Note: The drive to Pittsburgh using a direct route is only around 3.5 – 4.5 hours depending on where you are coming from. If you don’t have time for the Tail Tour, feel free to meet us down there!

Friday Evening

We will be joining Alleghany PCA, the host region, on Friday evening for the  Weekend Kick-Off PartyWillow Restaurant, 634 Camp Horne Road. Festivities begin around 5:00 p.m. Restaurant parking lot is reserved for Porsche car show. Courtyard reserved for ARPCA.

Saturday

Looks like a Frank Lloyd Wright kind of day, hoping to get Falling Waters and Kentuck Nob scheduled for the day.  Evening dinner as a group, restaurant to be determined.

Sunday

We will be going to the Vintage Grand Prix.  Use this link to register to for the Porsche field: http://msreg.com/2021-PVGP  Spots are very limited and going quickly.

Allegheny PCA helps sponsor The Pittsburg Vintage Grand Prix each year.  We will be leaving on Friday 7/23 and returning on Sunday 7/26 or Monday 7/27. This event is held at Shenley park where vintage cars race on a 2.3 mile track through the park and golf course. Besides the vintage races there are numerous muscle and exotic car shows on the grounds and in Pittsburg. The trip is approximately 7 hrs. long including driving the tail of the dragon North.  I have contacted the Residence Inn by Marriot on a block of rooms.

Allegheny Region Porsche Club of America information brochure:

Plan to attend the 39th annual Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix with ARPCA.  Join hundreds of your fellow club members, guests from other regions, and friends as we gather on “Porsche Field” in Schenley Park to enjoy our cars, vintage races and the camaraderie that defines PVGP weekend.  Now is the time to register and mark this event on your calendar. The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix is our club’s largest fundraiser of the year with proceeds donated through the PVGP charity to the Autism Society of Pittsburgh and the Allegheny Valley School.

This year’s planning necessitates a conservative approach to comply with shifting state guidelines and potential for DHS to reverse course as summer draws near.  To that end, the club is applying current protocol for “large group” outdoor events limiting registration to 120 cars each day.  We will maintain the same high quality amenities as 2019 to include a catered lunch from Mission BBQ, Dining and Registration tents, Silent Auction, and People’s Choice Awards. The club’s PVGP Committee is utilizing a streamlined check-in process where attendees register through Motorsport Registration (MSR) and receive an email from PVGP_Reg@arpca.com with a dash plaque and QR code “ticket” as attachments.  As members drive up to the Porsche corral, we will scan the QR code and have your wrist bands, raffle ticket, and PVGP program pre-staged at the Registration tent.

You must Pre-Register to guarantee a spot on Porsche Field.  Parking is limited to 120 cars. There is no “Same-Day” registration this year.
