Description of Observatory Tour: In partnership with the Astronomy Section of the Rochester Academy of Sciences (ASRAS), we offer free tours of the Mees Observatory. These tours are guided by a combination of senior ASRAS members, UR grad students and undergrads, and UR astrophysics faculty. The tours usually consist of an informational slide presentation about general astronomical topics, followed by the viewing of astronomical objects through the 24 inch Cassegrain reflector telescope. We expect to have excellent viewing for Jupiter, Saturn and the Rings, Mars, the Moon, and Milky Way.

Note: This is a “Fair Weather Event Only” and will be canceled in the event of heavy cloud cover or rain that prevents use of the Telescope. Please contact John, to let him know if you are planning on joining him for the event. Check the website Saturday morning for a “go/no go” message.
