Charities:christmas-tree

We are continuing our annual charity projects: This year our recipients are:  Community Action in Batavia and Cornerstone Manor in Buffalo

For Community Action in Batavia:
Toiletries, paper products, non-perishables. Food stamps do not cover toiletries, cleaning supplies & paper products so those are particularly appreciated.
Especially needed at this time: Dish soap, laundry detergent, toilet paper, deodorants, and feminine pads.
All size socks, hats, mittens, & underwear are always greatly appreciated.
Also always needed:
Peanut butter & jelly, pasta & sauces, canned tuna, rice, beans, canned veggies, canned juices.
For Cornerstone Manor in Buffalo:
First, I would like to tell you a little bit about this group.  Sue Beamer and myself recently toured this facility and we were both blown away with the amazing job they are doing with and for homeless and abused women and children. They provide Emergency shelter, health & wellness, clothing, chaplaincy and case management.  But they don’t stop there, they also provide transitional housing, education, substance abuse and recovery services, medical treatment and much more. And they aren’t done yet, they also provide daycare for children up to school age and an after school program for kids up to the age of 13.  So while the moms are getting their training and/or education, their children are in a safe stable environment. These are the kids we are looking to help this year.
Gifts for children & “tweens” to about age 12-13: School supplies, backpacks, paper, pens, pencils, markers, erasers, books.  Winter hats, caps, gloves, mittens, scarves, socks, sweatshirts, hoodies, pajamas, slippers, robes.  And of course, Toys!!!!
And if you are so inclined, their Moms at Cornerstone could use some of these items also, along with personal care items.

We will be continuing our new  tradition of the Charity Raffle. We would like everyone to participate by writing down their favorite charity on the back of their name cards. After dinner, we will put them all in a bowl and select names with their respective charities and then we will distribute checks to those charities chosen. Please have your charity names and addresses available to facilitate this effort.

We have two very deserving organizations this year, thank you in advance for your participation and support in this endeavor.

These donations are in addition to the annual four charities selected by our board members.
