High Performance Driver Education

The mission and purpose of the Porsche Club of America’s Driver Education Program is to provide a safe, structured and controlled teaching and learning environment. The PCA DE Program is designed so that participants can improve their driving abilities and acquire a better understanding of vehicle dynamics and driving safety. Participants will experience first-hand the capabilities of high performance automobiles in a controlled, closed-course environment and acquire skills that will enhance safer vehicle operation in all driving situations.

The Niagara on the Road program provides a unique opportunity to drive on a variety of tracks in the US and Canada with the camaraderie of your fellow Niagara HPDE drivers. Niagara kicked off our inaugural “On The Road” program in 2012 by herding 20+ track enthusiast and caravanning them all down to Virginia International Raceway to attend a two day open track event with David Murry Track Days. Subsequent years included Allegheny Region PCA at Mid Ohio, and Calabogie Motorsports Park in Canada with the Patroon Region BMW club and the Ottawa Region BMW Club.

GVC-BMW offers Taste of the Track at Watkins Glen

Taste of the Track is a low-pressure, low-risk, and low-cost introduction to the sport of high-performance driving.  Unlike a typical two-day HP driver’s school, it only takes up an afternoon of your time. Because Taste of the Track is run on a Sunday afternoon piggy-backed onto one of our regular two-day schools, you will not only get to see a full-scale driving school in action, but also directly experience the thrill of driving with your own highly-trained instructor on one of the most famous race tracks in the world.
The classroom session is specifically geared toward Taste of the Track first-timers.  There you’ll be introduced to the basics of car control and high-performance driving, flags and their meanings, and become familiar with driving school safety regulations and procedures.  For more information, please go to GVC-BMW’s website.

Tire Rack Street Survival

In addition to our High Performance Driver Education program, the Niagara Region PCA is also concerned with the safety of teen drivers. This article from discusses and makes suggestions regarding Common Risks Faced by Teen Drivers. Teen crashes and teen-driving fatalities are entirely too common. Tire Rack Street Survival Teen Driver Safety Program is a course that we know helps significantly reduce these tragic accidents. Niagara provides instructors and volunteers for the Genesee Valley Chapter BMW CCA Street Survival program. Please visit http://www.streetsurvival.orgto learn more about the Tire Rack Street Survival® program.

Next classes: May 6, 2017 & November 4, 2017
